I resisted the message for a long time (23 years) but then, after prolonged mental suffering, I embraced it. I am glad I did – but I know it is hard to justify rationally.
Prior to becoming a believer, I studied many philosophies and traditions.
I was raised in a non-believing family.

Again, you, like most converts I have encountered,come from a background of some sort of emotional upheaval.
But this doesn’t strike me as a rational reason. Very common, yes, but not rational.
Why is it , do you think, that regular, ordinary blokes like me have never felt inclined to turn to religion?
For the record, I don’t smoke.Have no porn, drug or booze issues . Am reasonable healthy’ I have a stable marriage , no problems with kids, ordinary job, etc etc. See? So damn boring!
Actually, that’s very cool, to be honest.
I was even brought up in a Church of England home – albeit very loosely and read the bible cover to cover to find out what was what while researching a piece I was writing on the character, Moses. Which, incidentally, finally put to bed any lingering doubts about historicity.
So why do you think I have never, ever felt the slightest inclination toward religion or god belief?
In fact, by now, you have probably realised that I find it anathema.

Finally, you strike me as an intelligent sort of bloke; how can you rationalise being a ”believer” when swamped by evidence that shows it is all hokum; basically nothing but a hoax at best, outright lie at worse?
