I inherited this cloth from my mom. She was given it as a gift from a Peruvian friend in the early 60’s. It was probably looted from a tomb. I would like to know what cultural epoch it is from. Joyindestructible, my sister in faith, sparked my interest when she made a comment about the Cloud People culture of pre-Columbian Perú. I would like to think that this textile is ancient, but it may be far more recent than I think. How can I identify this textile ethnographically and archeologically? Any suggestions?
