Pondering

PROMPT #14: write a poem that deals with the poems, poets, and other people who inspired you to write poems. These could be poems/poets/people that you strive to be like, or even poems, poets, and people that you strive not to be like. There are as many ways to go with this prompt as there are ways to be inspired.

So… can I pull out a meticulously edited draft to comply with this prompt?

Perhaps another Porn Poem . . . hmmm. Can I be forgiven?

Blow This:

I wet my whistle first, then blow
(The algorithm will let you know—)

And then my bot will rob you blind
In the name of humankind.

Which means there are no more than two genders;
Both of which are Truth’s defenders . . .

     and Effrey Jepstein didn’t kill himself.

PROMPT #13
:

Write a non-apology for the things you’ve stolen.

These prompts always make me feel guilty if I ignore them. I keep waiting to see if the next prompt will match one of my  drafts on hand. I have so much amazing poetry to inflict upon you… (sigh).

Anti-Viral Triolet

It’s Easter in Coronaland;

The empty malls hold silent air.

There’s paranoia on demand

For Easter in Coronaland.

The baby chickens make their stand;

And pastel rabbit eggs declare:

It’s Easter in Coronaland

In empty malls of silent air.

PROMPT 12: write a triolet. These eight-line poems involve repeating lines and a rhyme scheme.
